Poland 1945 – Copernicus memorial
This is the second appearance on stamps of
the memorial statue to Nicolaus Copernicus in the courtyard of
the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, first seen on a Polish
stamp from 1940. On this
occasion it was the fourth-highest value member of a set of
five depicting monuments in Cracow. The monument appeared again
the following year.
